How Southern California casinos are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day

If you’re feeling lucky or have been waiting for the right occasion to wear that green outfit hanging in your closet, spending St. Patrick’s Day at a Southern California casino is a solid option.

Several of the properties will host Irish-inspired food, drinks and live entertainment.

Here’s what’s going on St. Patrick’s Day weekend inside Southern California casinos.

Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City

Agave Caliente Terraza: Darby O’Gill and the Little People are making their way down from Las Vegas to perform traditional Irish music mixed with rock on Saturday, March 18, at the casino’s outdoor venue. The show is free and open to guests 21-and-older. Tickets can be reserved through the casino’s website and picked up after 3 p.m. on the day of the event. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Café One Eleven: The restaurant will serve corned beef tacos served from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on March 17 for $17.

Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs

Drink specials: The Center Bar will serve specialty cocktails on March 17 like The Pot of Gold, Tipperary and an Irish Margarita for $10 each.

Performances: Bagpipers will perform every 30 minutes from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 17.

Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage

Performances: Irish dancers will perform throughout the casino floor all day on March 17.

360 Sports (Cathedral City, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage): The bar will serve Shepard’s pie for $20 and lucky blonde green beer for $4 will be served at 360 Sports and at the other bars on the properties all-day on March 17.

Harrah’s Resort Southern California

Drinks specials: Spiked bar will serve an Irish Sunshine cocktail made with Irish whiskey and a splash of green tea from March 12-19 for $12.

The Café: The restaurant will offer corned beef served with colcannon all day on March 17 for $19.

Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa

Contests & drink specials: Starting March 11, the casino will run an Instagram promotion asking competitors to submit a photo of their pet wearing green for St. Patrick’s Day for a chance to win a two-night stay at the hotel. Drink specials include $6 domestic beers, $7 imported beers and a $1 discount on Irish whiskey at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa and Casino Morongo next door.

Fiesta Taco: Chile Verde served with Mexican rice, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and corn tortillas served 11 a.m.-midnight for $14 on March 17.

Good Times Café:  Corned beef dinner served with steamed cabbage, red potatoes, carrots and brown sugar mustard sauce. Dessert is mint chocolate ice cream. It’s served 11 a.m.-midnight for $28.99 on March 17.

Pink Coffee: Guinness vanilla bean frosted mocha cake served all-day on March 17 for $7.50.

Pit Stop Diner: Located next door at Casino Morongo, the restaurant will offer corned beef and cabbage served with baby carrots, red potatoes, honey mustard sauce and a parker house dinner roll from 11 a.m.-midnight on March 17 for $24.99.

Pala Casino Spa & Resort

Pala Café: Slow-roasted corned beef served with cabbage and boiled potatoes ($22.95) and beer-battered Atlantic cod served with chips ($20.95). Both dishes are available 11 a.m.-midnight on March 17.

Spotlight 29 Casino

Taproom 29: Corned beef, beef cabbage and soda bread for $23.95 or $18.95 with Club Card. A Chairman’s Blonde green beer will be available for $4 on March 17.

Yaamava’ Resort & Casino

Drink specials: The Lucky Leprechaun, made with Jameson Irish whiskey, Midori liqueur, sweet and sour and Red Bull garnished with a lime and cherry, will be served at all of the property’s bars on March 17 for $12.

Rock & Brews: Braised corned beef and cabbage with rosemary hash served 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. on March 17 for $24.95.

Serrano Vista Café: Guinness shepherd’s pie with ground chuck, carrots, spring peas, Guinness-infused demi-glace, whipped yukon potato gratin served 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on March 17 for $28.

Tutu’s Food Court: Pastrami Sandwich on a Hoagie Roll, with pickles and mustard, served with a choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or onion rings served 11 a.m.-1 a.m. March 17 for $21.

909 Food Hall: Reuben on rye bread made with pastrami, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, 1000 island and served with waffle fries served 11 a.m.-2 a.m. on March 17 for $15. A 16-ounce can of the dry Irish stout from Brewery X, Dublin My Vision, will be available for $10 as well on St. Patrick’s Day.
