Evansville Pizza Week, will have its fourth annual run from Jan. 8-14. A dozen or more pizza restaurants in Evansville will offer special $8 pizza deals. It might be a popular menu item, a special meal bundle or a creative off-menu special. Watch for more details on Facebook.com/EvansvillePizzaWeek.
Kickstart your health with these healthy eating classes
Food for Life instructor Susannah Dickman of Eat Plants be Well will be offering two Kickstart your Health one-day classes at the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana in January. Tickets, if purchased by Dec. 30, will be sold at a 20% discount. The class will focus on plant-based eating as a means of getting and staying healthy. A single-day class will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and is $20. A five-class series taught on Thursdays from Jan. 26 through Feb. 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., is $100.

Great Gatsby New Year’s Eve party
Hometown Roots will be hosting a free-to-enter Great Gatsby-themed New Year’s Eve party. Come for dinner specials, Soul N The Pocket playing live in the Gatsby Room, and a Champagne toast at midnight. Gatsby-themed outfits are strongly encouraged.

Guntry Club now open to members and public
Lawman Tactical has opened The Guntry Club, a training facility and private club for firearms enthusiasts and others. The 10-8 Cafe inside is open to the public (no membership needed) serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a selection of beer. It is closed on Mondays. A lounge with full bar is available to members. Soon, the Lawman Tactical Coffee Lab, by the owners of the former White Swan Coffee Lab, will open to the public as well.

Popular doughnut and coffee shop closes for the year
The Milk Barn Café, known for coffee and fresh-fried “Firecakes” doughnuts, has closed for the remainder of 2022. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we make plans for the future of the business,” reads a Milk Barn Café social media post.
