FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
While this recipe is perfect for leftover ham, you can use any sliced ham. Deli ham or store-bought packaged ham all works. I suggest something sweet like honey or maple ham, the sweetness plays well with the savory cheese and seasonings.
Of course. If you have a favorite homemade pizza dough recipe, feel free to use that.
If you want to mix up the cheese, other varieties I suggest are mozzarella, pepper jack, smoked gouda, Monterey Jack or Gruyere. If you can, buy a block of cheese and shred it by hand, it melts much nicer.
If you don’t like honey mustard, other dipping sauces I suggest are pizza sauce, ranch, or spicy mustard.
Keep leftovers in a covered container the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. I suggest reheating in the oven or an air fryer until warmed through. A microwave can be used in a pinch, but the dough may become soggy.

HOW TO MAKE HAM AND CHEESE STROMBOLI:
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured, clean work surface into a rough 8x12 rectangle.
Place the dough on the cookie sheet.
In a small bowl, mix together the parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Sprinkle half of this mixture all over the dough.
Add half of the cheese over the dough, leaving a half-inch border. Make sure one side of the dough has a larger, 1 and ½ inch border of just dough.
Lay the ham over the cheese. Top the ham with the remaining cheese.
In a small bowl, beat the egg with a splash of water.
Brush the egg wash over the exposed edges of the pizza dough.
Roll jelly-roll style, from one long end to another. Make sure to roll tightly into a log. You will end on the side with the egg wash, and pinch the seam together to secure the roll. Pinch the top of bottom edges together and tuck them under the roll.
Brush the top all over with the egg wash.
Sprinkle on the remaining seasoning mix.
Cut slits 2 inches apart into the dough on top so excess air can escape while baking.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Let rest for 10 minutes, then cut the stromboli into 2-inch slices.
Serve with honey mustard for dipping, optional.
